PlantLife Adoptions

The Plants at Watershed WellBeing are thriving and propagating in the indirect light of their North-facing windows. As a result, many of our "Babies" (they will always be babies to me!) are flourishing and looking to find their forever homes.

It used to be just the Spider Plants that would send up a spike of white flowers that gave way to the next generation. But now the Fox Family Cactus, Ricki and the Green Dragon have sprouted an unexpected amount of new growth, while the succulents bolted , bloomed, and demanded reorganization. Most will prefer a home with other plants, but still need their own pot; others are currently in a bonded group situation, but are expected to need more spacious or individual accommodations over time.

Emphasis on "over time" because you should expect for this plant to live for the rest of your life if you treat it with Empathy and Fully Commit. It will need re-potting, and there is a good chance your Spider Plant may propagate in the next year or two, so you will want to plan for that. Will you be able to care for multiple plants? are there people in your life who may be willing, or even enjoy receiving plants in a proactive way? Could the “Babies” be a way to reconnect or develop new relationships? These questions aren't meant as discouragement or to trigger insecurity, rather just a reality check before deciding if Plant Adoption is right for you. Because I know you are capable, and when you are ready, there’s going to be a Plant that’s ready for you.

  • if Now is “The Time”, and you are local to the Lambertville, NJ area, let’s >>schedule a Meet and Greet<<. Adoption Fees are by Donation, and run from $15 for Potted Spider Babies to $50 for Multi-Plant Miniverses. If you are out of the area, you can order a Spider Plant Babies Starter Kit ($20) that includes one small bare root plant nestled in moss for you to plant at home.

  • If Now isn’t “The Time”, or you are looking for something that doesn't require water or sunlight, check out our selection of Moss Paintings (Below), Schedule an Emotional Support  Planet Cultivation Session, or just Donate in the spirit of PlantLife. *Donations of $50 or more will receive a Spider Plant Babies Starter Kit (value$20) and an invitation to participate in an Emotional Support Planet Cultivation Session.

  • All Adoptions support the Programs and Mission of Watershed WellBeing and allow us to continue facilitating better relationships with Our Planet, Ourselves, and the Unknown by acknowledging our common nature.

Important Information Re: Moss Paintings: Unlike our Plants for Adoption, or Spider Plant Babies Starter Kits - which can last a lifetime with the proper care and commitment, Moss Paintings are expected to degrade at their own pace. Moss Paintings tend to be more temperamental than live plants in many ways, shed regularly, and can act out at inconvenient times, like 8:30 pm on a Tuesday night causing the Air B&B guest to send a “concerned” message to say that a large piece of Moss has dislodged itself in the Contemplation Room and they are in need of guidance on the situation. Then you’re down the down a Rabbit Hole of “How could my Mother have been right when she told me those Moss Paintings were going to be Trouble?” Moss Paintings do best in a low-traffic, clutter-free environment where they can be admired and treated with reverence.
